Mr. Adnan Afridi

Mr. Adnan Afridi has been appointed by the Government of Pakistan as the Managing Director of NITL as of February 11, 2019. Mr. Afridi has 24 years’ international experience in Change Management, business transformation, innovation and profitability enhancement in blue chip companies, public sector and start-up situations. He has led a distinguished career in financial services and capital markets including serving as Managing Director of the Karachi Stock Exchange, CEO, Overseas Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI), Chairman of National Clearing Corporation of Pakistan (NCCPL) and Board of Directors of Central Depository Company (CDC). Mr. Afridi has also served on multiple listed company boards including Silk Bank Limited and Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Limited. Currently, Mr. Afridi is a Member of the SECP Policy Board. Mr. Afridi has a degree in Economics (A.B, Magna Cum Laude, 1992) from Harvard University and a degree in Corporate Law (JD, Magna Cum Laude in 1995) from Harvard Law School. Mr. Afridi is an active supporter of charitable organizations. He has served as the President of the Old Grammarians Society & Trust and is currently Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Kidney Center. He is also a Member of YPO Pakistan since 2008.

Mr. Iqbal Adamjee

Mr. Iqbal Adamjee is representing Adamjee Foundation on the Board of NIT. Mr. Adamjee has acquired graduation degree from Stanford University, USA. He has been associated with various business concerns of the Adamjee Family which includes Adamjee Insurance, Adamjee Jute Mills and Automative Batteries. Mr. Adamjee is at present Director Mainetti (Pvt) Limited and serving as Trustee of Adamjee Foundation & Trustee of Child Life Foundation. From the aforementioned platforms he has immensely contributed towards betterment of education and health sectors.

Mian Nusrat-ud-Din

Mian Nusrat-ud-Din is representing Tajammal Foundation on the Board of NITL. He is the Chairman, Chenab Group, which is engaged in integrated manufacturing and export of Textile goods as well as in Agricultural products. Mian Nusrat-ud-Din is a graduate in Chemical Engineering and also holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Technology. He has over 40 years management experience of Textile Spinning Mill and Chemical Plants. Also, he has vast experience as a member executive committee of Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry and various Trusts.

Mr. Ahmad Aqeel

He is a businessman and a qualified lawyer with over two decades of diverse experience, which spans across Energy, Power and Financial Sectors. Holds an established track record of serving as a professional certified director on the boards of various listed and unlisted companies in public and private sector. Served four terms as a director on the Board of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, two terms on the board of National Investment Trust Limited. Additionally, served as an independent director on the Board Millat Tractors Limited, Adamjee Life Assurance Company Limited and three terms on the board of Nishat Power Limited. Elected for a third term as a Director on the Board of National Investment Trust Limited. A Certified Director from Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG) and enrolled with the databank of the SECP as an Independent Director. Meets the eligibility criteria to be appointed as an Independent Director on the Boards of SOEs, prescribed under State-Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act 2023. Mr. Omair Safdar

Mr. Omair Safdar has overall experience of 19 years in the Banking industry with almost 17 years spent at MCB. He has worked extensively in the credit and risk management functions, apart from managing the Bank's investment portfolio. In his current role, Omair looks after the overall Wholesale Banking business, which includes corporate & investment banking, transaction banking and capital markets. Omair also represents MCB Bank, as Director, on the Board of MCB Islamic Bank and MCB Leasing, Azerbaijan.

Mr. Naeem Bashir Ahmad

Mr. Naeem Bashir Ahmad is representing Habib Bank Limited on the Board of NITL.
Mr. Naeem Bashir Ahmad is at present Head of Business Transformation at Habib Bank Limited and responsible for improving services by enhancing the way HBL is do business across multiple domains, including Governance, People, Processes, Technology and Data / MIS.
Mr. Naeem Bashir Ahmad posses 30+ years of broad-based experience in commercial, consumer, transaction banking, consulting and manufacturing, He previously worked at United Bank Ltd and was responsible for all its business interests outside Pakistan. Prior to UBL, Mr. Naeem Bashir Ahmad worked at Alvarez and Marsal and headed up the firm’s Financial Services practice in Europe and the Middle East. Mr. Naeem Bashir Ahmad held various leadership positions across Asia and Europe and have worked on a large number of financial deals, including the merger and acquisition of a commercial bank. Including due diligence, carve-out and divestment of ABN AMRO’s retail banking chain in the Phillippines and participated in the acquisition of ABN AMRO by RBS.

Syed Irfan Ali

Syed Irfan Ali assumed the charge as the President / Chief Executive Officer of Industrial Development Bank Limited (IDBL) on 17th January, 2023 His banking career spans over a period of 31 years, beginning in 1992.
Syed Irfan Ali led Deposit Protection Corporation (DPC), a subsidiary of central bank of Pakistan, incorporated as financial safety – net in order to ensure stability in Pakistan, with mandate to compensate all eligible depositors in the event of failure of any bank, in the capacity of Managing Director. By virtue of this statutory position, he is entrusted with responsibility to infuse sense of confidence in the industry and to protect all bank depositors, which strategically enhances scope of banking supervision, strengthen financial stability and has promoted financial inclusion in Pakistan. In addition, Mr. Ali manages as institutional portfolio of more than PKR 50 Billion DPC.
He is the key team member of central bank’s historic initiative to financially integrate all Pakistanis across the world, by means of digital banking & Fin Tech under flagship Roshan Digital Account (RDA).
Prior to his current role, Mr. Ali hold the position of Executive Director, Banking Policy & Regulation Group and Banking Supervision Group at SBP. He has also served as Director General Financial Monitoring Unit (FMU).
Mr. Ali is a banking sector policy expert and adviser. His expertise includes banking and non-banking regulation, payment systems, AML/CFT, financial markets, and Fin Tech. Issuance of policy frame work for branchless banking in Pakistan, Global Depository Receipt (GDR), policy on corporate governance, Prudential Regulations, introduction and amendment in key statutes related to banking and supervision, structuring and restructuring of Financial Institutions, assistance to the Government in disinvestment / privatization process of public sector banks, merges and acquisition, and introduction of thematic inspection concept as a precursor to the risk based supervision are his few achievements during his services to SBP. Mr. Ali has also been associated with various committees and working groups and represented SBP at various domestic and internal forums like FATF/APG, IMF.
He is also prolific speaker and covers a wide range of industry subjects. He has been constantly engaged in speaking both in Pakistan and abroad all forums and is a professional trainer on broad range of subjects, however branchless banking & Fin Tech remains his forte.

Mr. Amjad Mahmood

Mr. Amjad Mahmood is currently having charge of Additional Finance Secretary (IF/INV/IGF) with 32 years of diversified work experience, in Civil Services of Pakistan. He has served in various executive positions during his service. He has served as Advisor to the Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). He has vast experience in dealing with matters relating to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), House Building Finance Company Limited (HBFCL), National Security Printing Corporation (NSPC) and other Financial Institutions/ Regulators/Organizations. He holds a Master’s degree in Administration & Management from the Institute for Development Policy and Management, Manchester University, UK. He also holds Master’s degree in English Language and Literature and International Affairs. Mr. Amjad’s areas of expertise include Public Financial Management & Public Administration. Mr. Karim Akram Khan

Mr. Karim joined National Bank of Pakistan in 1996 since then he has held a variety of senior positions during a career spanning over 25 years. In 1997 he moved to Bank of America as Senior Authorized Officer. He re-joined NBP as Vice President to Head Business Monitoring & Financial Control of the Bank’s interactional franchise. In 2003, he headed corporate credit division for five years. Mr. Karim also served National Accountability Bureau for three years as Director Financial Crimes Investigation. After repatriation to NBP, he worked in Assets Recovery as Executive Vice President for a period of seven years and subsequently led logistic support Group as its Group Head. He was elevated to SEVP & Group Chief, Logistics, Communications & Marketing in 2021. He is currently responsible for leading multi-disciplined logistical functions by leading a large term as cohesive unit, thus efficiently providing logistical & marketing support to the Bank.

Mr. Abdul Aleem Quershi

Mr. Abdul Aleem Qureshi holds an MBA degree in Finance and has over 30 years of diversified banking experience in Corporate, Retail and Commercial banking groups. He has previously been associated with different banks including Bank of Punjab, Emirates Bank lnt'l pjsc, Faysal Bank Ltd, Allied Bank Ltd, MCB Bank Ltd and Soneri Bank Ltd. Mr. Qureshi's expertise in implementing SBP Regulations, Credit Monitoring, and handling Toxin Loan and Recovery has yielded remarkable results for his organizations. His negotiation skills, relationship management, and strategic planning have been instrumental in major turnarounds and business facelifts. He has consistently exceeded business and financial goals, exemplifying his dedication to excellence in different Organization. Currently, He has been associated with UBL and performing his duties as an SEVP/Group Executive - Branch Banking Group.

Mr. Mohammad Aftab Manzoor

Mr. Manzoor is a senior banker with 35 years of banking experience including 10 years as the CEO of two “Big Five” banks in Pakistan. Provided strategic leadership to transform these banks and was instrumental in strengthening and repositioning the franchise and building them into leading market players.

After completing MBA in 1977 from Quaid-e-Azam University, he has undergone extensive credit and management training at Citibank training centers abroad. He has also attended various seminars, workshops, and training sessions with renowned institutions such as World Bank, Harvard Business School & MIT Sloan Business School.

He has twice served as Chairman Pakistan Banks Association (PBA) working closely with State Bank of Pakistan on regulatory and other banking industry related issues.

Mr. Shoaib Mir

Mr. Shoaib Mir is a retired Pakistani civil servant who served in BPS-22 grade as the Education Secretary of Pakistan and Chief Secretary Balochistan. Mir belongs to the Pakistan Administrative Service and was promoted to the rank of Federal Secretary in December 2017. He has held various key positions throughout his career with the most notable of his assignments being Chief Secretary Balochistan and Education Secretary of Pakistan. He has also served as Chairman of State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan. Other positions where he has served include Additional Secretary Establishment Division and as Principal Secretary to Governor of Balochistan.

He also attended local and international professional training courses, workshops, seminars and conferences.
